There are a lot books to choose from and so many to recommend, but today I'll shine some spotlight on the underrated gems I've encountered so far!

I tried to mix it up and include both Adult and YA recs, there should be something for everybody!

THE NEXT TOGETHER by Lauren James
| Genre: YA / Time Travel
If you like time travel, internet humor, and epic love stories, you have to read this.

THE SOUND OF US by Julie Hammerle
| Genre: YA / Contemporary
One of my favorite contemporaries of the year and so quirky and lovely that you just can't resist. If you like college settings, artsy characters, and music, this is a must-read

LABYRINTH LOST by Zoraida C√≥rdova
| Genre: YA / Wizards and Witches
A matriarchy of badass Latina witches. That pretty much sells it, right? It doesn't come out til later this year, but it's already one of my absolute favorites.

THE OTHER CHILD by Charlotte Link
| Genre: Adult / Crime
I love her books! I don't read crime mysteries often, but when I do, it's only Charlotte Link. This is one of my favorites that was translated in English, it freaked me the hell out.

LOVING by Katrin Bongard
| Genre: YA / Romance
The cutest romance ever with a book blogging protagonist.

COULD IT BE MAGIC? by Melanie Rose
| Genre: Adult / Chick-Lit
This is one of my favorite books ever, about a woman that lives the lives of two different people by day and night respectively, after she gets struck by lightning.

THE DEVIL'S INTERN by Donna Hosie
| Genre: YA /  Time Travel
The afterlife, fantastic girl friendships, time travel, and sass. A must-read.

LIFE'S THAT WAY: A Memoir by Jim Beaver
| Genre: Non-Fiction / Biographies and Memoirs
Gosh, this book. It's a nonfiction memoir in which a man tells about his last months with his dying wife in epistolary form. This is heartbreaking.

YESTERDAY'S CHILD by Barbara Wood
| Genre: Adult / Paranormal
A super creepy, almost surrealist story about a romance from beyond the grave.

What are your favorite underrated reads?
